I was not allowed to read romance as a teenager. After having my Harlequin novels confiscated one too many times, I became adept at hiding books and my reading habits. However, I still lived in a conservative community that felt romantic fiction was too dangerous for women of all ages.

My 5 Favorite Romance Books of 2018

I read over 100 romance stories this year. Admittedly, there were quite a few books I didn’t finish. There were also a few that unexpectedly ended in cliffhangers (my pet peeve!) or worse, brought in a love triangle. Ugh. It almost made me run back to my keeper shelf and my tried-and-true favorite authors.

Climb Out of Your Reading Rut

Reading might be your first choice of entertainment but there are times when none of the books are your TBR pile excite you. You start to realize that, more often than not, you abandon the book before you get to the happily-ever-after. Or every book feels like the same story. Perhaps you’ve gone to the bookstore and walk out empty-handed because none of the books made you think I have to read this.
