Every Saturday I share some questions I receive from readers, bloggers and writers. Today’s question is:
Who are your favorite authors and why?
My favorite authors are Jayne Ann Krentz, Lynne Graham, Lori Foster and Barbara Boswell.
I didn’t start reading Jayne Ann Krentz until she had already created quite a substantial book list. I picked up Family Man at the library more than fifteen years and was instantly hooked. Krentz has quite a few pen names, and while I prefer her contemporary romances, JAK’s wit and memorable heroines shine in all of her work.
Lynne Graham is someone whom I’ve read for twenty plus years. Her stories are intense! I can always escape in her books, knowing I’m going to be swept away in the exotic settings and emotional dilemmas. Download The Italian’s Inexperienced Mistress for free and see why I enjoy her work so much.
I started reading Lori Foster when she wrote for Harlequin Temptation. I love her heroes. They are strong, protective, and have an unbreakable code of honor. One of my favorite books is Too Much Temptation. It’s sweet and sexy. You will swoon over the hero. Believe me.
My twin sister gave me my first Barbara Boswell book. Boswell used to write for Loveswept, Silhouette Desire and a few contemporary romance single titles. I really enjoyed her hospital romances. Steamy! I feel that her stories are very much bad boys vs. good girls. My favorite book of hers is Rulebreaker.
I also noticed something else when I was compiling this list: I liked how each of these authors writes about families. For example, Boswell often wrote about adoption and Krentz’s couples are rarely parents but are strongly connected with their relatives. Each author knows how to create a world that I want to visit again and again.

I am not familiar with Barbara Boswell… have to look her books up.
She doesn’t write any more (as far as I can tell) but there are a few of her books available as ebooks. She used to write stories that were connected by family members. My favorites are Rule Breaker and The Bridal Price.
JAK would be on my list, but as the Amanda Quick name… Lori Foster, she seems to be a go to Christmas novella author for me! The other two, can’t say I have read…

If you haven’t read Lynne Graham, you’re missing out!
Georgette Heyer – she wrote the first Regency novels I read – love her mysteries too!
I’ve heard so many good things about Georgette Heyer! I am determined to read at least one of her books to see why readers adore her work.
I’m behind there too… think I’ve only read three books? I know of two, but not sure if there is a third. Do have one or two more that have been sitting there unread… oh, one day. LOL

You are way ahead of me! I think I’m going to try one her most popular. Most readers tell me that Arabella or Devil’s Club are their favorites.
THERE ARE SOME MANY THAT I CAN’T CHOOSE ONE! SADLY NEVER READ ANY OF SUS’S BOOKS.
So many books, so little time. That has always been my problem.
Robyn Carr is a favorite. She has created a town and people you can care about and want to know. I have some Barbara Boswell books tucked away in my book closet
I’ve heard a lot of readers enjoyed Robyn Carr’s Virgin River series!
I’ve only read a couple authors you listed.
