Subscribe by email:Why did I buy it? I saw that it was selling like crazy and I hadn’t heard of Lynda Chance before. So I downloaded it. I know, I know. I have the most random reasons for buying a book.
What’s the storyline? John Garrett is a cynical multi-millionaire who is rarely denied anything he wants, until the day he meets Sarah McAlister. Sarah’s been hurt in the past and everything about the brooding rancher sends her defenses on high alert. She tries her best to stay out of his path, but his relentless pursuit makes him all but impossible to resist.
(The book summary forgets to mention the raging sexual tension.)
Who should read it? This story is for readers who like spicy yet traditional love stories. Unlike a lot of erotic romance available today, this story is between one man and one woman. There is no fetish or kink, but the hero is dominant. His primitive need to claim the heroine is the driving force of the story.
The hero is controlling and possessive, but he’s also protective and committed to the
heroine. I liked the story and I like alpha heroes, but there were times when I thought, Whoa! He did not just say that. Some readers will love his dominant nature while others will have a real problem with the tone of the relationship. If you like heroes extremely alpha, you will enjoy this book.
Would I buy another Lynda Chance book? This books appears to be the second installment of the “Ranchers of Chatum County” series but I’m not really interested in the first story. The previous couple appeared in this book and I was intrigued but I think there’s a big age difference which is just not my thing. But I’m open to more of Chance’s work.
