I’m one of those people who prefer a plan. I plan out my day and I plan out my story ideas. I’m always asking “What’s the plan?” I knew that not having a plan was a good artist’s date for me because it was a way to get out of my comfort zone. So I abandoned my routine for the day and opened up a guide book that rated and recommended places I could take my dog in the Seattle area. I closed my eyes and pointed at where I was going.
Wallace Swamp Park
I have never been there. Probably because I usually avoid any place with the word ‘swamp’ in it. I was tempted to flip the page and try again. Instead I decided to suck it up and go.
Turns out that the swamp looked like this.
Who would have thought? I hate to admit it, but sometimes you make a beautiful discovery when you don’t have a plan.
