Not That Kind of Girl by Susan Donovan

When Roxanne Bloom’s last relationship crashed and burned, she responded by starting a man-hating website and adopting a slightly psychotic dog. She’s angry, she’s bitter and it’s all she can do to protect herself from any more heartbreak.

Roxie is also avoiding Eli Gallagher, a dog whisperer who managed to get under her skin. The sexual chemistry between them scares her senseless. But when she has to prove that her dog can be rehabilitated, the only person she can turn to is Eli. Only Roxanne didn’t realize that Eli was also rehabilitating her so she can regain her strength and courage.

Eli is a patient hero, but he’s also strong and protective. He wants Roxie to feel safe, happy and find peace. There’s a lot of focus on Roxanne moving forward in the story but Not That Kind of Girl also has a strong theme about friendship. The friends play such an important part in the book that I really wish I had read the other books in this series before I had read this final installment in the trilogy.
