Jenna needs to prove to her hometown that she’s a big city successful party planner. The problem is that she’s lost the success she once had. Now she’s back—reluctantly and temporarily—to plan an important party and regain her mojo. But for this party she needs Stockton, her ex-boyfriend, to cater.
It had been a messy break-up, mainly because she had wanted to run as far from the small town as possible and Stockton hadn’t been willing to follow her. Now these old loves have a chance for a new beginning, but will they repeat their mistakes?
In this story, Jenna is really struggling to find her place. Nothing has been going right for her for months and now she has to visit a town where there are a few people who judge her harshly. I thought Jenna was an intriguing and believable heroine. She had a difficult upbringing and it takes her a while to realize that people would be there for her when she needed them.
Midnight Kiss, New Year Wish is a heartwarming story about second chances, but it’s also about community. The small town and the neighbors—both good and bad!—really adds to this story.
Midnight Kiss, New Year Wish by Shirley Jump is a January 2011 Harlequin Romance.
