I can’t believe it! I won the Harlequin Presents Writing Contest!
When the editor called to let me know the good news, I flashed back to the moment when I was in middle school and reading my first romance novel, The Arrogant Duke by Anne Mather. Reading that Harlequin Presents opened a whole new world for me, and it was one of my first inspirations to become an author.
When I started writing romance, my first attempt was a Harlequin Presents. My career took me on a different and rewarding path, and now I have an unexpected chance to write a Harlequin Presents. This is such a sentimental achievement for me! There are no guarantees but I’m grateful for the opportunity. Winning the Harlequin Presents writing contest gives me the chance to rediscover my dream.

A big congrats Susanna!!! I am so happy for you!!!
Thank you, Colleen! This holiday season has suddenly become even brighter for me.
Susanna just popped by to congratulate you on winning the Harlequin Presents contest. I look forward to reading your chapter and hopefully the finished product.
Chris.
I’ve been shouting the news from the rooftops! I’m so very thrilled for you and I’m hopeful you’ll let me review your first Presents or M&B, which ever is first! Sending love and many hugs.
Thank you, Chris and Marilyn! I’m very excited about the opportunity.
Congrats, Susanna. How will you celebrate?
I visit the Presents blog first before here (alphabetical order and all that) and I happened to see that and think, hey, is that. . . and sure enough, it was.
Big congrats, and hope we get to read the contest winner sometime!
Lois
Thanks, Jane and Lois!
Jane, I’m going to celebrate by going to my favorite restaurant!
Congratz! Contests wins are always exciting!
Hi Sussana,

Hi Sussana,
It is stated on your website that you have a Harlequin Spice already contracted with Harlequin, therefore you are ineligle to enter the competition.
Is that right???
It also states you have had one published in 2007. The rules were contracted authors with Harlequin were ineligle to enter.
Hi Susanna,
huge congratulations on winning the competition. Lovely news!

I haven’t been around for a while. I changed internet providers and my old email address went with it. I just realized that I haven’t been getting your newsletters. I have since corrected that problem and look forward to your next edition.
Congratulations, Susanna! I remember the feeling so well of winning the contest, and the excitement it brought. I didn’t thank you before, but I read the review you did of my first book — so please accept my tardy thanks for your kind words.
Best Wishes,
Lynn
