According to a study in the Social Science Quarterly, the top 10 “Bad Boy” names (in alphabetical order) are: Alec, Ernest, Garland, Ivan, Kareem, Luke, Malcolm, Preston, Tyrell and Walter.
The belief is that “giving newborn males oddball, girly, or strange first names may just help them land in jail.”
Riiight. No one has ever accused me as scientific, but I think this report is way off base. And since when has the name Luke been considered odd?
