I enjoy watching romantic comedies, and I’m also a Sandra Bullock fan, so it was a no-brainer that I would go see The Proposal.
The movie was light and funny, and it delivered everything I expect from a romantic comedy. However, it didn’t offer anything new. There’s even a scene which gave me a sense of deja vu, and then I realized I had seen Sandra Bullock do the very same thing in her 1995 movie, While You Were Sleeping.
So while I smiled and laughed during the movie, I would suggest waiting to watch it on DVD. It’s more of a curl-up-on-the-couch-after-a-hectic-day kind of movie.
What movie have you seen lately?
We just saw Transformers 2. It was good, I didn’t like it as much as the first one though. Also saw My Sister’s Keeper. It wasn’t like the book. It was still good, just not like the book.
I don’t think I can watch My Sister’s Keeper. I cried just watching the commercial!
We were going to see Transformers 2, but heard it was so so. I think I will go see Harry Potter in a few weeks… have seen the previous ones, they seem to get darker and darker each time.
Colleen, I think you’re right. The Harry Potter movies are getting darker. The new one is on my list of movies I want to see this summer.
