This week I start a new manuscript. It’s a Christmas novella and it doesn’t come out until next year, but I need to start working on it now because I haven’t figured out the hero. I know his name is Justin, he’s a bad boy who can make a wicked woman go weak in the knees, but what does he look like? I haven’t got a clue.
Usually I rip out pictures of movie stars and models and post them on the wall in my office. I find this helpful when I’m trying to get a better idea of what the characters look like. I’m not saying they look exactly like the movie stars, but they are definitely inspiration. In The Year of Living Shamelessly, I had pictures of Javier Bardem everywhere. One of the heroes in Pink Ice was inspired by Daniel Craig, while another looked a lot like Bollywood actor John Abraham. In Ex, Why and Me, the hero looked a lot like Matthew McConaughey. And when I wrote Lip Lock, I had quite a lot of pictures of Eduardo Verastegui hanging in my office.
So while my heroes never follow one type, I’ve come across a problem: I think I’ve used all the actors and models that I know!
Help, I need inspiration! Who do you think is the hottest bad boy on TV, in the movies, or on the cover of a magazine?

My new celebrity crush is Nathan Fillion who is in the new series Castle (doesn’t hurt that he plays an author) Haha. It airs tonight at 10:00 if you haven’t seen it. He is bad boy sexy but has such a killer smile that he wins my vote! I also adore Simon Baker (I have this thing for Aussie men).
