As I mentioned before, I’m participating in the eHarlequin.com book challenge. I thought my goal was pretty big: I want to read 100 books this year. (My total so far: 5. I’m on track. ish.)
Then I noticed that other readers in the challenge are adding ‘TBR mini-challenges’. I thought, hmm… that sounds interesting. My to-be-read pile is getting a little big. I started looking through the challenges. And freaked just a little. Why? Here are a sampling of the challenges:
* Authors A – Z: Read a book written by an author whose name begins with A, etc.
* Titles A – Z: same idea, but the title begins with A, etc.
* Read full mini-series that are languishing in your TBR pile
* Read books from various publication years counting down. So you read 9 books published in 2009, 8 books published in 2008… and so on.
And these are just the mini-challenges! Needless to say, I am not going to go for these. I think these should be reserved for the hard-core bookaholics, and after reading these challenges, I can honestly say that I don’t fit in that category.
