We stayed at the San Francisco Marriott during the RWA conference last week. Right off the lobby is the Starbuck’s, and I saw more of that than my hotel room. Standing in line, desperate for some chai, I did most of author sightings:

Of course, the risk of author sighting is the tendency to stare. And when the name tags are usually at chest level, one is really flirting on the edge of good behavior. I was staring at HelenKay Dimon before I got the nerve to approach her and introduce myself. As a fan of her books and blog, it was a treat to chat with her.
So when I wasn’t in a meeting or workshop, I was at Starbuck’s–which could explain why I’m having chai withdrawal symptoms!
