Love Songs Playlist: The Broken Up Edition

According to articles such as this one by Psychology Today, we are entering the breakup season also known as the Turkey Drop.  There has been research that shows an increase of couples parting ways starting from Thanksgiving right up until New Years.

Breakups are never easy, and everything feels amplified when there is so much togetherness during the holidays. Kesha, P!nk and Sinéad know just how you feel and they express every raw emotion.

Please Don’t Leave Me (2011) by P!nk

I read that this song was about a love-hate relationship, but I think it’s more about a woman acknowledging that she was cruel to the one she loves.

Nothing Compares 2 U (1990) by Sinéad O’Connor

This breakup song is all about wanting another chance. I know that living with you baby was sometimes hard / But I’m willing to give it another try / ‘Cause nothing compares / Nothing compares to you

Praying (2017) by Kesha

When you listen to this song, do you hear forgiveness? Anger? Bitterness? All of the above? Overall, I hear the relief of getting out of a bad relationship.
